Boundary FAQ
Q: Field boundaries can be archived. Why is this beneficial? [Learn More]
A: Archiving fields in Granular Insights allows you to include yield data from previous years when reviewing a variety’s performance. Archived fields are removed from the active field list, decluttering your current season's view while preserving historical data.
Q: What happens to my data when I archive a field?
A: Archiving a field moves it to the Archived Fields section of the field list on the Map tab.
Q: Will I lose any machine data if I archive my field?
A: No, archiving a field does not result in any data loss.
Q: What are the benefits of being able to delete field boundaries?
A: Deleting field boundaries can be useful when fields are incorrect or no longer in use. To delete a field, first archive it, then proceed with deletion. Note: when you delete a field boundary, you also delete any pinned notes and photos and any current or historic field plans on that field.
Q: Is it possible to archive or delete field boundaries in bulk?
A: At present, field boundaries can only be archived or deleted individually. However, our support team can assist you with bulk archiving or deletion of fields. [Contact Support]
Q: Is it possible to merge one field into another if needed?
A: Currently, we do not have the capability to merge fields directly. However, field boundaries can be extended using the boundary edit tools. We are actively working on a solution to facilitate field merging in the future.
