How do I add or change the crop type on a field?

Overview

Assigning crop types to fields drives additional functionality in Granular Insights, including field rankings and scout priority. 

Requirements

• An active Granular Insights account
• Access to a computer or mobile device
• An active internet or cellular data connection
• Fields added to your operation

Process - Web

There are two ways to assign crop types to fields using Granular Insights on the web. You can assign the crop type to individual fields one at a time, or you can use the bulk edit tool to conveniently assign crop types to multiple fields all on one screen.

To assign crop types to fields individually:

1. Log in to Granular Insights for Canada at https://ca.insights.granular.ag. 
2. In the Field List on the left navigation menu, select the field you would like to add a crop type for.
3. Click Edit Field in the top right corner of the Field Health Summary navigation menu.
4. In the Crop Type drop-down list, select the crop type that is growing in this field during this growing season.
5. Click Save Field. 
6. The crop type will now appear on the Field Health Summary page.

To assign crop types to multiple fields using the Bulk Edit Tool:

1. Log in to Granular Insights for Canada at https://ca.insights.granular.ag.
2. In the Field List on the left navigation menu, click Edit Fields at the bottom left corner.
3. Change the crop types for individual fields by clicking on the Crop Type drop-down menu for each field and choosing the correct crop. Alternatively, to change multiple fields to the same crop type, click on the grey box to the left of the fields to select multiple fields. Go to the Bulk Actions drop-down menu at the top of the window and select Set Crop Type, then in the new drop-down menu that appears, select the Crop Type.
4. Once you have finished editing the crop types for all fields, click Save & Apply Changes to exit the bulk edit tool.

Process - Mobile       

1. Log in to the Granular Insights mobile app.
2. In the Field List, select the field you want to add or change the crop type for.
3. Click on the icon on the top right corner of the screen to open the Field Options and select Edit Field. 
4. Modify the crop type by clicking the crop listed under Current Crop. If no crop type is currently assigned, the crop type will show as Unassigned. Select the updated crop type and click Save Field.
