How do I use the Notes & Photos feature?

Overview

Team collaboration has never been easier. Use Notes & Photos to capture geolocated notes and pictures while you’re scouting your fields. Share with your agronomist, seed rep, or team members for more efficient scouting.

Requirements

• An active Granular Insights account
• Active internet or cellular connection 
• Fields uploaded to an operation that you are a member of

Notes

• Any member of the operation can add notes and photos to any field
• All members of the operation can view all notes and photos that have been added to that operation
• If field boundaries are modified, the notes and photos will stay pinned to the field. If a field boundary is deleted, the notes and photos on that field will also be deleted

Process - Web

1. Log in to Granular Insights for Canada at https://ca.insights.granular.ag. 
2. In the Field List, click on the field you would like to add the note to. 
3. Click the Notes icon    at the top right corner of your screen to add a new note.
4. Place your cursor on the exact spot on the map where you want to add the pin for your note.
5. Insert a title (optional) and text for your note.
6. Click Attach Photo to add up to 10 photos to your note (optional). 
7. Select Share to send the note and photo via email (optional).
8. Click Done to save the note.

On the web you can only share your note with one person at a time. In order to share your note with additional team members:

1. Open the field that has the note you would like to share.
2. Click on the pin that you would like to share. This will open the note.
3. Select Share. Type in the email address for the recipient.
4. Click Done to send the note.

Process - Mobile

There are two ways to add a new note on the Granular Insights mobile app. 

To add a note from your field map:

1. Log in to your Granular Insights mobile app.
2. In the Field List, select the field you would like to add the note to.
3. Select the Add   icon at the bottom right corner of your screen and tap Note from the action menu..
4. Drag the pin shown on the map to the exact place where you want to add the pin for your note and click Next, or if you are out scouting the field, select Use Current Location to mark the location for your note.
5. Add a title (optional) and text to the note.
6. Click the icon to add an image to your note (optional).
   • You can use the camera on your mobile device to take a picture. You may need to enable camera access in your device settings.
   • You can also upload photos from your photo gallery. You may need to enable access to your photo gallery in your device settings.
   • You can add up to 8 photos to your note.
7. Select Save to save your pinned note to the field.
8. To share the note with a member of your team, click on the pin to open the note and select the icon. From here, you can send a PDF of the note or a direct link to the pinned note by email or any other messaging app on your device.

To add a note from the Notes list:

1. Log in to your Granular Insights mobile app.
2. Open the navigation menu and click on Notes. 
3. Tap the Add symbolin the bottom right corner and select Note from the action menu
4. Add a title (optional) and text to the note.
5. Click the icon to add an image to your note (optional).
   • You can use the camera on your mobile device to take a picture. You may need to enable camera access in your mobile device settings.
   • You can also upload photos from your photo gallery. You may need to enable access to your photo gallery in your device settings.

6. Click Add to Field.
