Edit a Field Boundary

Accurate field boundaries are essential for effective planning and data analysis. Keep your field boundaries accurate by editing field boundaries to reflect recent changes.

Process – Web

  1. Log in to Granular Insights for Canada at https://ca.app.granular.ag
  2. Click Map on the left navigation menu.
  3. Select the operation with the field that needs to be updated.
  4. Click the Edit icon beside the field in the field list.

     Notes:
    • The field icon on the field list and the field boundary on the map are coloured to match the crop assigned to the field (e.g. corn = orange, soybeans = blue). Fields with multiple crops assigned will show with a striped pattern to indicate the different crops.
    • A legend is displayed at the bottom of the map indicating the colours for the assigned crops for the operation. Click the crop colour on the legend to filter the field list to fields with that specific crop. To remove the filter from the field list, click on the crop on the legend again. You can also hide the legend if you don’t want it showing on the map.

  5. Click on the field boundary on the map to activate edit mode.

  7. Make changes to the field name and add or change the farm name, if needed. Click the dropdown menu under the title Farm Name to select your desired farm. If the farm name does not appear on the list, click Add New Farm, type the name of the farm and click Save.

  8. Click Save Field at the bottom of the Edit Field window to save any changes that were made.

    Notes:
    • If a field is no longer needed, it can be archived from the Edit Field window. Navigate to the field to be archived and click the Edit icon beside the field name. Click Archive Field at the bottom of the Edit Field window.
    • Archives fields will always be visible at the bottom of the field list under the Archived Fields section. If it needs to be unarchived, it can be done by clicking the Edit icon beside the archived field and clicking Unarchive Field. Once unarchived, the field will show under the Active Fields section.
