How do I export a variable rate seeding (VRS) prescription?
Overview
After creating a VRS prescription in Granular Insights, you will need to export it to your monitor. This can be done wirelessly to your John Deere Operations Center or manually by downloading the script and importing it to your monitor.
In Granular Insights, you can export scripts for a single field or for multiple fields at once. You can also select if you want to only export the primary plan for a field or if you want to export backup plans as well. Variable rate scripts can be exported in imperial (seeds/acre) or metric (seeds/hectare) units of measure. Variable rate prescriptions can only be exported using the web application.
Requirements
- Active internet connection
- A VRS prescription created for the field
Process
Export Scripts for Multiple or Individual Fields
- Log in to Granular Insights for Canada at https://ca.insights.granular.ag
- Navigate to the Activities tab on the operation you want scripts for. Click the box to the left of each field you want to export a VRS script for.
- A bulk action menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click Export Rx.
- On the Export screen, select the machine type you're exporting the script to, as well as the units of measure you want the script export to be generated in. Choose if you want to export the script for only the preferred product for this field (by clicking the Only export primary varieties toggle) or if you want to include some (or all) of your backup plans. Additionally, you can generate your summary report with all varieties, primary varieties only or choose to not generate a report at all.
- Select the Delivery Type for the download. The script can be emailed, downloaded or sent to your John Deere Operations Center.
- If you select Email Files, enter the email address(es), subject line and an optional email message. An email will be sent to all recipients with a link to download the export files.
- If you select Download Files, exports will download to the folder specified in your browser settings.
- If you select MyJohnDeere, you will need to log into your John Deere Operations Center. Go to Files under More. You will see your uploaded scripts that you can select to download.
- Click Export. The export will begin. Once completed, it will be delivered by the method selected in Step 5.
After a VRS script has been exported, it can be accessed to download again from the Manage Data tab. Click Exports on the right side of the screen. Click on the arrow to the right of the downloaded file. You now see the option to Download file for the script or Download summary report that will include a PDF map for each script for each field included for the export.
NOTE: You can also get here by navigating to the Map tab and clicking on the field you wish to export the VRS script for. On the map-view, select the Year/Crop as well as the VRS layer for the script. Once selected, you will be able to view the VRS script on the field map. Click Export Rx on the bottom left of the VRS Detail screen.
