Machine Data: Unsupported Zip File
Issue: User is trying to upload a zipped dataset with an unsupported zip file.
Reason: Currently Granular Insights only supports 7zip and default zip from computer.
Solution: Zip file using an approved zip program. (7Zip & default zip)
Windows
-
Locate the file or folder that you want to zip.
-
Press and hold (or right-click) the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder.
A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location. To rename it, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Rename, and then type the new name.
macOS
- Put all the files you wish to zip into one folder. You can achieve this easily through drag and drop.
- Right-click on the folder with all the files you want to zip.
- Click on Compress (folder name) to automatically activate your built-in compression feature.
7zip
-
Open the folder containing the files you want to zip, right-click on any free space inside the folder, choose New and then Compressed (zipped) Folder. Name the archive as you wish.
-
Double-click on the newly created archive: a new window will open. Drag and drop any file you want to archive into this folder.
You can choose one or more from anywhere in your storage area. Each time you add a file you may need to confirm by clicking OK as well.
-
Once you have finished adding files, exit from the window (X button on top right).
-
A new archive file has now been created, with a .zip extension. It contains all the files that you added but is much smaller in size than their uncompressed total.
