Create a Map Layer

Make better product recommendations and dig deeper into product performance results with map layers in Granular Insights. Map Layers is in beta. Your feedback is appreciated as we continue to enhance and improve this functionality. 

Process – Web

  1. Log in to Granular Insights at https://us.insights.granular.ag.
  2. Click the Map Layers tab on the left navigation menu.
  3. Select the field where you want to create the map layer.
  4. Click Create Layer at the bottom of the field window.



  5. On the Create Layer window, enter a name for the layer and select the layer type. Click Continue.

    Layer Types

        • Irrigation – represents the irrigated area of a field; Analysis can use this layer to inform the irrigated vs dryland yields of fields
        • Trial – defines one or more attributes to be tested on a field or to plan and execute a trial.
        • Generic – for additional layers with assigned attributes



6. Edit the area using the drawing tools on the left side of the map or update the attribute in the attributes data table by clicking Expand Attributes at the bottom of the map. Learn how to edit map layers. You can also add a new attribute by clicking + Add Attribute on the right of the attribute data table. If any edits are made, click Save to save the edits to the attributes.



7. Click Save. You will now see the new layer in the Layers list.
