Edit a Map Layer
Edit map layers to customize the layer shape and attributes, ensuring you have the right data layers for product recommendations and performance analysis. Map Layers is in beta. Your feedback is appreciated as we continue to enhance and improve this functionality.
Process - Web
- Log in to Granular Insights at https://us.insights.granular.ag.
- Click the Map Layers tab on the left navigation menu.
- Select the field that contains the layer you want to edit.
- Click on the layer that you want to edit to display the action menu and click on it.
- Select Edit Layer.
- The drawing tools will become available to be able to edit the shape of the layer.

- For more detailed information on the different map edit tools, click How to use map tools on the right of the Edit Layer window. Click the edit tool to view information.
- From the Edit Layer page, click Expand Attributes at the bottom of the map to edit the attribute data.
- Click the Attribute Edit menu beside the column name to edit the attribute. You can also add a new attribute by clicking + Add Attribute on the right of the attribute table. Ensure you click Save in the Edit or Add Attribute window.
- Once you have made the desired edits, click Save at the bottom of the Edit Layer window to save the changes made to the layer.

- Select the specific area of the field to apply the edit to. If no specific area is selected, the layer edits will be applied to all the shapes in the layer.
- In the layer action menu, you can also select Clean or Merge other layers with this one.

Clean – fixes geometry issues and removes any polygons that are smaller than the minimum desired polygon size

Merge other layers with this one – merges a layer into another, with the base layer as the layer that will persist. Learn more on how to merge layers.
