Overview

Add fields to your operation to view your historical and in-season satellite imagery in order to track field conditions and make informed management decisions.

Requirements

  • An active Granular Insights account.
  • An active internet or cellular data connection.
  • Once a field has been created, changes to field boundaries can only be made on the web.
  • If the auto-detected field boundaries (CLUs) are not visible, continue to zoom in on the map (CLU's are not available in all areas).

Web - Process

  1. Login to the Granular Insights website.
  2. From the Map tab in the left navigation menu, click Add Field.
  3. From the satellite map, navigate to the approximate location of the desired field and zoom in until the CLUs appear.
  4. Once the desired field is located (you can use the Search for a location field and enter a city name, zip code, or use geographic coordinates).  The CLUs will populate with a blue outline around the field.  To select the field, simply click within the field boundary for the desired field.
  5. Add a name for the field, farm, and add the current crop for the field in the left navigation bar and click Save Field.

  7. You can also manually add field boundaries by using the shape icons  in the upper left corner of the map to draw the field border.
  8. With the crosshairs pointer +, click once in each corner of the field boundary; when finished, click the starting point once more to close the shape.
