Adding Farms, Fields and Boundaries with Shapefiles

Overview

Bulk upload fields to your operation using the shapefiles import functionality to view your historical and in-season satellite imagery in order to track field conditions and make informed management decisions.

Requirements

  • An active Granular Insights account.
  • Shapefiles in .shp, .shx, and .dbf file formats.
  • Shapefiles in correct file formats compressed into a zip file (Windows or Mac).

*Note: Importing shapefiles can only be done on the web.

Process - Web

  1. Login to the Granular Insights. https://us.insights.granular.ag
  2. Select Map on the left sidebar navigation panel
  3. Select Upload Fields

    • Upload fields will appear when no fields exist. If fields already exist select Add Field.
                       
  4. Select paperclip or drag and drop zipped files 
  5. Select the zipped file to import and Select open.  
  6. Select Upload.
  7. Select Next: Map Data.
  8. Select the column name that corresponds to the field name and farm name.
  9. Select Next: Review Fields.
  10. Select the fields to be imported, or click the box in the upper left corner to select all the fields.  
  11. Select Save and Add Selected.
  12. The imported fields will appear in the Field List.
