Make a connection to John Deere Operations Center
Granular Insights helps you organize your farm's data in one place. Connect your John Deere Operations Center to import field operations data into Granular Insights for deeper analysis.
Process - Web
- Log in to Granular Insights at https://us.insights.granular.ag.
- Click on Manage Data at the bottom left side of the screen.
- Click on Add Connection.
- Click on John Deere Operations Center.
Note: You must be a “staff” member with organization management access level "1" in John Deere.
5. Click Log in to John Deere.
6. Enter your John Deere login credentials. If your credentials are already stored on your device, you may not be asked to enter them again.
7. Click Allow Access.
8. Select the John Deere organization to be linked to the Granular Insights operation. Click Next.
Note: You may be prompted to grant Granular access to the John Deere organization chosen. If so, click Allow access in John Deere. If not prompted to allow access, go to Step #11.
9. On the Grant access to organization screen, click Grant Access.
10. Confirm which organization(s) will have access to Granular Insights and click Save. When complete, you will be directed back to Granular Insights to finish the connection.
11. Choose your data preferences by toggling Import Boundaries or Primary Boundaries on or off. Click Next to continue.
Note:
- If your John Deere Operations Center has field boundaries that you would like to bring over to Granular Insights, toggle on Import Boundaries on the Data Preferences screen.
- Machine data will only appear in Granular Insights if there are field boundaries to link to.
- If you want your John Deere Operations Center boundaries to be the primary boundary source and override the existing boundaries in Granular Insights, toggle on Primary Boundaries on the Data Preferences screen.
- An export of the existing boundaries in Granular Insights is generated and made available in the Manage Data tab, in Downloads, prior to the John Deere Operations Center boundaries being synched.
- Changes cannot be made in Granular Insights to synchronized boundaries. This will ensure that the boundaries in Granular Insights and in John Deere Operations Center match.
- You can turn the Import Boundaries and Primary Boundaries toggles on/off anytime you wish by navigating to the Manage Data tab and selecting View details under the John Deere Operations Center connection.
12. If the Primary Boundaries toggle is on, select whether you want to keep or archive the existing Granular Insights boundaries. Click Enable, Next to continue and then Finish.
13. Review the connection details to ensure they are correct.
Note:
- Please allow up to 24 hours for data to process and come through to Granular Insights.
- If you would like to allow variable rate seeding (VRS) recommendations to be sent to your John Deere Operations Center, ensure that "Equipment" access level is set to 1 minimum and the Setup File Creator, Products, and Wireless Data Transfer box is checked.
- If you would like to allow John Deere Operations Center as the Primary Boundary source, ensure that "Locations" access level is set to 1 minimum.
