Connect to John Deere Operations Center

 

Granular Insights helps you organize your farm's data in one place.  Connect your John Deere Operations Center to import field operations data into Granular Insights for deeper analysis. 

 

Process – Mobile

  1. Log in to the Granular Insights mobile application.
  2. Select the menu bar on the top left of the screen.
  3. Select Field Data on the left navigation menu.
  4. Select the operation you want to add a note to by clicking the Filters icon on the top right of the screen and select Apply Filters.
  5. Select Manage Data on the top of the Field Data page.
  6. Select Add Connection. 
  7. Select John Deere Operations Center.

    Note:
    • You must be a “staff” member with organization management access level "1" in John Deere.
       
  8. Select Log in to John Deere Operations Center
  9. Enter your John Deere login credentials. If your credentials are already stored on your device, you may not be asked to enter them again.
  10. Select Allow Access
  11. Select the John Deere organization to be linked to the Granular Insights operation. Select Next.

    Note:
    • You may be prompted to grant Granular access to the John Deere organization chosen.  If so, click Allow access in John DeereIf not prompted to allow access, go to Step #13.
       
  12. On the Grant access to organization screen, click Grant Access
  13. Confirm which organization(s) will have access to Granular Insights and click Save. When complete, you will be directed back to Granular Insights to finish the connection. 
  14. Select your John Deere Operation Center clients that you want the data to flow in to Insights for.

    Notes:
    • New clients added to the John Deere Operation Center organization will automatically be added and enabled
      • These clients will be marked with a “New” tag 
      • If you do not want new clients to be automatically added and enabled, toggle Include New Clients off 
      • When new clients are added, a banner will appear on the Connections screen indicating that they were added and suggesting to review and make any necessary adjustments 
    • To remove a client, expand the dropdown list and unselect the client you want to remove 
      • No new data or boundaries will come over to Insights for the removed client but all existing data and boundaries will remain in Insights
      • When clients are removed, a banner will appear on the Connections screen indicating that they were removed and suggesting that you review and make any necessary adjustments
         
  15. Choose your data preferences by toggling Import Boundaries or Primary Boundaries on or off. Select Next to continue.

    Notes:
    • If your John Deere Operations Center has field boundaries that you would like to bring over to Granular Insights, toggle on Import Boundaries on the Data Preferences screen.
      • Machine data will only appear in Granular Insights if there are field boundaries to link to.
    • If you want your John Deere Operations Center boundaries to be the primary boundary source and override the existing boundaries in Granular Insights, toggle on Primary Boundaries on the Data Preferences screen.
      • An export of the existing boundaries in Granular Insights is generated and made available in the Manage Data tab, in Downloads, prior to the John Deere Operations Center boundaries being synched.
      • Changes cannot be made in Granular Insights to synchronized boundaries. This will ensure that the boundaries in Granular Insights and in John Deere Operations Center match.
      • If the operation is also connected to a FieldAlytics grower, note that boundary updates in the John Deere Operations Center will update in FieldAlytics once the boundaries update in Granular Insights.
    • You can turn the Import Boundaries and Primary Boundaries toggles on/off anytime you wish by navigating to the John Deere Operations Center connection card in the Manage Data tab.
       
  16. If the Primary Boundaries toggle is on, select whether you want to keep or archive the existing Granular Insights boundaries. Click EnableNext to continue and then Finish
  17. Review the connection details to ensure they are correct.
     

 

Notes:

  • Please allow up to 24 hours for data to process and come through to Granular Insights.
  • If you would like to allow variable rate seeding (VRS) recommendations to be sent to your John Deere Operations Center, ensure that "Equipment" access level is set to 1 minimum and the Setup File Creator, Products, and Wireless Data Transfer box is checked. 
  • If you would like to allow John Deere Operations Center as the Primary Boundary source, ensure that "Locations" access level is set to 1 minimum.
