Add a Field Boundary Manually

Track field conditions and make informed management decisions. Understanding an operation starts with capturing each field. With complete field boundaries in Granular Insights, plan the right product on the right acre, get in-season weather insights and pin notes to fields.

 

Process – Web

  1. Log in to Granular Insights at https://us.app.granular.ag
  2. Click Map on the left navigation menu.
  3. Select the operation you want to add a field to.
  4. Click Add above the map, on the right and select Add Fields.


     
  5. On the map, locate the field you would like to add. You can do this by:
    • Navigating to the field location, scrolling to zoom in and out, and clicking and holding your left mouse button to drag the map until you find your field
    • Using the search bar to look up the field by city name, postal code or geographic coordinates
  6. Once you have located your field, the auto-detected boundaries will populate with a blue outline around the field. If you do not see the auto-detected boundaries, you may need to zoom in further on the map. Click on the desired field to select it.


     
  7. Enter the field name and assign a farm for the field. Click Save Field.


     
  8. Your field is now saved to your operation and will appear in your Field List.

 

You can also manually draw field boundaries by using the drawing tool on the map to draw the field boundary.

  1. Log in to Granular Insights at https://us.insights.granular.ag
  2. Click Open New Insights at the top of the left navigation menu.
  3. Click Map on the left navigation menu.
  4. Select the operation you want to add a field to.
  5. Click Add above the map, on the right and click Add Fields.
  6. On the map, locate the field you would like to add. You can do this by:
    • Navigating to the field location, scrolling to zoom in and out, and clicking and holding your left mouse button to drag the map until you find your field
    • Using the search bar to look up the field by city name, postal code or geographic coordinates
  7. Once you have located your field, manually add the field boundary using the drawing tools on the left side of the map.


     
  8. With the crosshairs pointer + active, click once in each corner of the field to draw the boundary. When finished, click the first field corner one more time to close the shape.
  9. Enter the field name and assign a farm for the field. Click Save Field.
  10. Your field is now saved to your operation and will appear in your Field List.
