Import a Field Boundary Shapefile

Bulk upload fields to your operation using the shapefile import functionality. Track field conditions and make informed management decisions by adding fields to your operation to view your historical and in-season satellite imagery, plan the right product on the right acre, and monitor weather in-season.

Bulk field boundary upload can be used to import new field boundaries or update existing field boundaries in Granular Insights.

Process – Web

  1. Log in to Granular Insights at https://us.app.granular.ag
  2. Click Map on the left navigation menu.
  3. Select the operation to import a field for.
  4. Click Add above the map, on the right and click Import Fields.

  5. Click Upload Field Boundaries at the top of the New Field window.
  6. Click Select File to the right of the navigation menu.

  7. Find the zip file on your computer that contains your shapefiles. Select the zip folder and click Open to import it.
  8. Click Upload.

  9. Select the column name that corresponds to the field name and farm name and click Next: Review Fields.

  10. Select the field(s) to be imported or click the box in the upper left corner to select all the fields.  If needed, change the farm assignment and update the field names so they appear as they should in Granular Insights. You can also add a new farm if needed by clicking Add New Farm in the farm dropdown for the field. Click Next: Review Fields.

    Note:
    1.
      • Any field that is marked as New in the Existing Field column represents fields that do not already exist for the operation and a new boundary will be generated. If it is marked as Update, no new boundary will be generated. There is already an existing boundary that will be updated.

  11. Review the Imported Field Boundaries information to ensure that everything is as you want before you complete the upload. Click Save. Once processed, click Done.

  12. The imported fields will appear in the Field List.
