Edit a Field Layer

 

Edit map layers to customize the layer shape and attributes, ensuring you have the right data layers for product recommendations and performance analysis. 

 

Process - Web

  1. Log in to Granular Insights for Canada at https://ca.app.granular.ag
  2. Click Map on the left navigation menu.
  3. Select the operation that you want to edit field layers for.
  4. Click the layer icon beside the field that where you want to access the layers.
  5. Click the layer that you want to edit.

    Note:
    • You can type key words in the search field to filter to the layer you are looking for.


       
  6. Click the Edit dropdown and click Edit Layer.


     
  7. The drawing tools will become available to edit the shape of the layer.



    Note:
    • For more detailed information on the different map edit tools, click How to use map tools, in the Edit Layer window. Click the edit tool to view information.


       
  8. From the Edit Layer page, click Expand Attributes at the bottom right of the map to edit the attribute data.


     
  9. Edit the attributes simply by clicking in the attribute field that you want to edit and make the change. You can also click the Attribute Edit menu beside the attribute column name to make edits. Add a new attribute by clicking + Add Attribute on the right of the attribute table. Ensure you click Save in the Edit or Add Attribute window.





    Note:
    • The only way to edit the required attributes (marked with *) is to click in the attribute field and make the edit.
       
  10. Once you have made the desired edits, click Save at the bottom of the Edit Layer window to save the changes made to the layer.


Notes:

  • Select the specific area of the field to apply the edit to. If no specific area is selected, the layer edits will be applied to all the shapes in the layer.
  • In the layer action menu, you can also select Clean Layer or Merge Layer.
    • Clean Layer – fixes geometry issues and removes any polygons that are smaller than the minimum desired polygon size
    • Merge Layer - merges a layer into another, with the base layer as the layer that will persist. Learn more on how to merge layers.
