Add an Irrigation Layer for a Field

You can create an irrigation layer to identify areas of a field that are irrigated. With irrigation as part of your decision zone, you are able to set two different seeding curves for a product on your field – one to use on your irrigated acres and one to use on your non-irrigated acres. IMPORTANT: The irrigation layer should be created before the decision zone is generated.

Process - Web

  1. Log in to Granular Insights for Canada at https://ca.app.granular.ag.
  2. Click the Map tab on the left navigation menu.
  3. Select the operation with the field to add an irrigation layer for.
  4. Click the layer icon  beside the field that you want to add an irrigation layer for.
  5. Click Add Layer in the field layers window and select Create Layer

  6. In the Create Layer window, enter a name for the layer and select Irrigation as the layer type. Click Continue.

    Note:
    • If there is any missing information that is required, you will not be able to save the layer. A warning will show in the Create Layer window. Click on View Details to see what is needed in order to be able to save.

  7. Using the mapping tools (draw/modify), add the irrigated area.

    Notes:
    • Using the circle drawing tool under Draw. Navigate to the center of the pivot, click once, then start dragging the mouse to the desired width of pivot, then click once again to set the irrigation pivot
    • Use the punch tool under Modify, to remove the irrigation pivot area.

    • You can also manually edit the pivot by clicking and repositioning the vertices on the map. To move multiple vertices at once, click one and then press & hold the shift key and click on the others that you want to move and dragging them at the same time.
